Braden Matthew Turner

Annndddd, our little peanut has a name!  Well, I guess he's had a name this whole time, but I'm just now getting around to letting everyone know.  I think Matt and I had our boy/girl names picked out about 3 days after finding out I was pregnant, but just referred to our 'peanut' the first few months before finding out the gender, and now it's so hard to actually call him by his name!  Little Mr. B is quite an active baby, and it's been so fun (and a little weird) to start feeling him move around the last few weeks.  I'm still amazed by the whole process and can't believe there is a teeny tiny baby boy growing in my belly, that we'll get to meet in about 3 months!!!  Matt has been able to feel him kick too which was very exciting, and from all the weekly emails I get from different websites, he should be about 2 lbs. and over a foot long now - so big!  He was about 4 oz. bigger than normal at my last ultrasound, so I'm interested to see his approximate weight at my next ultrasound in 6 weeks - we might have a big one on our hands!

The last few weeks, we've been working on cleaning out stuff and getting the nursery ready.  On the 3rd floor of our townhouse, there is a loft/study area by our bedroom, which will be his new home.  We'll keep the bedroom on the 1st floor open for the Grandparents to stay in when they come to visit and help out, which we hope is quite often! :)

The school year is winding down and I can't believe I've been here for 5 years- where has the time gone?!  I am SO sad for this year to be over because I have the most amazing classes a teacher could ever ask for!  They have done so many amazing things this year, and my homeroom was recently awarded the Middle School Youth Volunteer of the Year award in HISD for their work on a school food drive that collected almost 3,000 items for the Houston Food Bank - I was so proud!  I also know that tomorrow they are having a 'surprise' baby shower for me, and that the girls have created a party planning committee to divvy out different items to bring - so cute!  I'm interested to see what they bring/make, (after having received some very interesting items over the year - ha!) and feel very loved that they have bugged me for the last 3 months about having a shower before the year is over!
